


The course was a little slower since the last time I rode it (2 months ago) due to some crosswind. I was 7 seconds slower at 26:13, but my power output was significantly higher (334 watts average), and I lowered the gap by 14" to local uber-rider Tim Clark, who was 21 seconds slower at 24:38 compared with his last effort.
I raced the 'Merckx' category, for guys without TT bikes or any aero equipment. It's hard to figure out exactly what that technology buys you in time, but a good estimate is that it would take off 90 seconds off that course, which equates to a what would be a very competitive 24:43 time.
