Early Bird Crit Freemont / Training Fatigue
I managed to get out of bed yesterday morning at 6 and get to the final early bird criterium, in Freemont. I had fun for the first 20 or 30 minutes, staying near the front, and at one point attacking to try and create a break -- to no effect. The flat, nontechnical, and windless course prevented any breaks from sticking. I flatted out with 5 laps to go, and walked it back to the start/finish -- Glad I found an excuse to get out, actually --my fitness jumped in response to the last 3 weeks of hard training and racing, but so has the evidence of fatigue, as demonstrated in saturdays ride, where I was unable to raise my heart rate to normal levels. Time for some rest.
